PDPal is an “anti-geographic and anti-Cartesian” interactive art project meant to counter the static, objective way today’s mobile technology generally orients and depicts maps. Designed for the Palm™ PDA, PDPal allows participants to render the emotional nuances of dynamic urban space by mapping not just places, but also the words, experiences, and activities they associate with those places. The resulting maps and visuals conjure the meanings and stories that personalize the city on a daily basis.
