If heaven had a bank, this would be its ATM. Produced for Ceci n'est pas un casino, a show held at Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain in 2010, Kirps’ Terminal is an aestheticized, ideal machine that celebrates the history of the building, which was built at the end of the 19th century as a gambling center but rapidly evolved to become also a center for culture in the city. Kirps, an artist whose works are in MoMA’s collection, works often with everyday objects, elevating, mutating, abstracting, and transforming them to reveal new applications as well as their inner essence.
