Anny Aviram is the Senior Conservator in MoMA’s David Booth Conservation Center. She joined MoMA in 1972 as an Assistant Conservator. Aviram specializes in the treatment of modern and contemporary paintings, and is responsible for preparing MoMA’s paintings for loans and exhibitions. She also trains interns and fellows from art conservation graduate programs in the US and Mexico, and has taught courses on the conservation of modern and contemporary art in Mexico City. Aviram’s technical essay publications include Diego Rivera: Murals for The Museum of Modern Art and, most recently, Matisse: The Red Studio. In 2021, she contributed to the catalogue for the exhibition Van Gogh and the Olive Groves, organized by the Dallas Museum of Art and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Aviram received her degree in conservation from El Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. She is recognized as a professional associate by the American Institute for Conservation, and is a fellow of the International Institute for Conservation.
