Odessa Roberts Matsubara joined MoMA in 2017 as the Director of Human Resources and was promoted to Chief Human Resources Officer in 2018. In this role, she leads a team that supports the Museum in compensation, benefits, organizational development, talent acquisition, employee and labor relations, learning and development, and workplace culture. Prior to joining the Museum, she worked in various capacities in human resources and labor relations at Virgin America Airlines, University of California, Berkeley, and Colgate-Palmolive. She also worked in corporate law with Morrison Foerster LLP. She holds BA degrees in anthropology and psychology from the University of Missouri, Columbia, a master’s degree in industrial labor relations from Cornell University, and a law degree from New York University School of Law.
