Giving FAQ

Your support enables us to share our collection and programs with millions of visitors from around the world each year, helping the widest possible audience understand and enjoy modern and contemporary art. A member of our Development team would be delighted to speak with you about your interest in giving to The Museum of Modern Art or MoMA PS1. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. You can also make a gift online at any time.

How to donate

You can make a gift right now to The Modern Fund or to support Museum programming.

By check

By securities or stock

The Museum gladly accepts gifts of securities. To request instructions for sending your gift of appreciated securities, please contact the Development Office at [email protected] or (212) 708-9698.

By wire transfer

The Museum gladly accepts payment via wire transfer. To request instructions for sending your gift by wire transfer, please contact the Development Office at [email protected] or (212) 708-9698.

By donor-advised fund

You may make contributions into your donor-advised fund (DAF) account and subsequently recommend distributions to The Museum of Modern Art. Please contact your sponsoring organization to advise on a donation and be sure to read through their guidelines.

From your IRA

If you are age 70 1/2 or older, you can support the Museum and reduce your taxes by making a gift to MoMA directly from your IRA, commonly called the IRA charitable rollover or qualified charitable distribution (QCD). Beginning in the year you turn age 73, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).

Matching gifts

If your company has a matching gift program, your contribution can go even further to support the Museum’s mission. Gifts from retirees and spouses of employees may also qualify for matching.

Donating artwork
