| The material within this collection is arranged chronologically and alphabetically by box. Each document box is labeled by subject according to the material that has been transferred to The Museum Archives. Once enough material has been gathered to be transferred to a document box, the box is then labeled with a subject heading. Reports and pamphlets created during a particular decade that relate to the Museum's history begin the series; an example being "1930's" followed by "1940's" and so forth. After the initial chronological boxes, reports and pamphlets related to the Museum's curatorial departments and general operations have been filed according to their related department. These boxes are then arranged alphabetically to make room for future growth as the Museum creates more ephemera that can be deposited within this collection. Each box has been numbered, as well as each folder within. The item number for each folder has its corresponding box number preceeding it. For example, folder 4 from the 1930's box is item number 1.4 because it is the the fourth folder in the first box within the collection. | ||
The records are open for research and contain no restricted materials.
The Reports and Pamphlets are the physical property of The Museum of Modern Art. Literary rights, including copyright belong to the authors or their legal heirs and assigns. Rights to work produced during the normal course of museum business resides with The Museum of Modern Art. For further information, and to obtain permission to publish or reproduce, contact the Museum Archivist.
