“Growing up, I didn’t have any models for professional artists who were also mothers.” For this month’s Drawn to MoMA, in which various artists share their own visions of life at the Museum, Danica Novgorodoff reflects on her experience visiting Louise Bourgeois: An Unfolding Portrait while pregnant with her first child in 2017. Looking at Bourgeois’s own representations of motherhood, she contemplates the complex relationship between the creation of life and art.
