![]() Robert Wilson After moving to New York in 1963 to study architecture, Wilson frequented the downtown art scene. Known for pushing the boundaries of theater, he has worked as a choreographer, performer, painter, sculptor, media artist, and lighting designer. His theater works are noted for their austere style, very slow movement, and often very large scale in space or in time. His opera Einstein on the Beach is a collaboration with composer Philip Glass.
