![]() Wallace Berman An integral part of the West Coast Beat community, with an interest in jazz, Berman began his career working on commercial art characterized by seriality and popular imagery. An early job in a furniture factory led to his use of leftover materials in sculpture and collage, as seen in this 1967 print. His publication Semina includes photographs, found material, and letterpress texts printed on a variety of colored paper scraps. Among the contributors are William S. Burroughs, Charles Bukowski, Jean Cocteau, and Allen Ginsberg. View Schedule Untitled. 1967. Offset lithograph. Given anonymously |
