Midtown is modern this summer
Be part of the art this season and enjoy a transformative experience in our galleries and Sculpture Garden. Henri Matisse’s studio comes to life with the first-ever reunion of the artworks in his landmark painting, The Red Studio. Barbara Kruger’s bold textual statements about truth, belief, and power envelop the Marron Family Atrium. Choreographer, performer, and writer Okwui Okpokwasili takes us inside her process and the evolution of a new work with the inaugural Studio Residency, which visitors will have the opportunity to experience on selected dates in August. You can also catch a frightful film in our theaters or get hands-on in our art making spaces.
Make plans this summer and enjoy hundreds of new–on-view works from our collection too, including Dan Graham’s glass pavilion, Child’s Play, in the garden, so make plans to spend your day surrounded by art.
Relax, take in the art, catch up with friends over drinks or a bite outdoors, enjoy cinema under the stars, and soak up the summer weather in our Sculpture Garden.
We’re open seven days a week, with late Saturdays until 7:00 p.m., and admission is always free for kids 16 and under. On the first Friday of every month join us for UNIQLO NYC Nights, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., when admission is free for New York City residents, and you can enjoy music by DJs from The Lot Radio in our Sculpture Garden, along with a pop-up bar.
Mark your calendars for an art-filled summer, and, better yet, become a member for unlimited free admission, exclusive viewing hours, and special programs all year long.
