bestdressed shares a playlist about learning to love your work in progress.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned from my brief stint in fine-art classes in high school and a career of creating photos and videos is this: A piece of art, in its artist’s eyes, is never really complete. You can drive yourself crazy fixing increasingly minute details, chasing an ideal of perfection you’ll never reach, or you can set aside your paintbrush once you’ve done your best, and learn to love your work in progress. In that spirit, I’ve put together a collection of songs to which I’ve danced, fallen in love, moved to new cities, screamed in my car, cried on the subway, and everything in between. This playlist is an ode to being young and confused; to searching for an identity in this messy world; to learning to accept yourself when you’re still, and always will be, a work in progress.
