In the online edition of MoMA’s ArtSpeaks program, we invite staff members, artists, and special guests to share personal impressions of an artwork in the galleries. Here, Leonardo Bravo, director of public engagement in the Department of Learning and Engagement, and Julia Detchon, a curatorial assistant in the Department of Drawings and Prints, delve into Carolina Caycedo’s Spiral for Shared Dreams. Their exploration illustrates how Caycedo’s epic work, a collaboration with fishing communities in Mexico, explores the “history of extraction and ancestral knowledge” in Latin America, and creates a sacred space for us all to engage with.

Explore our collection work by work as we release a new video each month. Watch the videos and then come visit the works in person at MoMA!
