Last Saturday’s Warm Up was fueled by explosive live acts and fun DJ sets from a mix of artists that perfectly captured end-of-summer vibes. False Witness and Murlo both played DJ sets that got the crowd riled up with a bit of club, dancehall, and R&B. DJ Windows 98 played the first live set of the day, complete with a high-energy crew of Haitian drummers, followed by a live performance from D∆WN, who delivered everything from pop to R&B in an elaborate all-white costume, with the support of two talented backup dancers. Fade to Mind’s Kingdom was up next with a flashy club set, and Matias Aguayo headlined the night with a live set filled with Latin flair, that was just as rich musically as it was packed with his impressive dance moves.

We’re both sad and ecstatic about the last Warm Up of the season coming up this Saturday! We can’t wait to see you in the MoMA PS1 courtyard for performances from Dan Bodan featuring Draveng, EGYPTRIXX, Clark, Vince Staples, Derrick May, and additional artists to be announced!

Last Saturday was all about chill, breezy house vibes in the MoMA PS1 courtyard—the idyllic Warm Up atmosphere. Laraaji began by introducing the crowd to his laughter meditation and sound immersion with delicate, breezy music from soothing instruments like wind chimes and a converted zither played like a drum. The Mood Hut collective then took over with a b2b set from Hashman Deejay and Pender Street Steppers, complete with the label’s definitive woozy, summery house music.

Last Saturday’s Warm Up saw techno and dance music meet percussion with some of the most high-energy acts to hit the MoMA PS1 stage this summer. French Fries and Bambounou went b2b to start the day, bouncing different house and dance tracks off one another with their strong musical chemistry. Vessel’s live set of organic techno sounds then cast a darker atmosphere over the crowd.

Serious techno vibes and unusual, intriguing rhythms filled last Saturday’s Warm Up. Rabit cast an air of darkness over the MoMA PS1 courtyard with beats typically reserved for late at night, making for an exciting daytime setting. The party continued with a nighttime feel while the sun shone bright over the crowd as they danced to a live set from Dorian Concept, followed by an infectious first ever performance from footwork producer Jlin, and a more upbeat DJ set from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

Last Saturday’s Warm Up had cool house vibes from an engaging mix of live performers and DJs, and an expansive gold stage design that lit up the entire crowd. Frank & Tony initiated the dance party with classic house tracks, and popped back behind the DJ booth for some quick tunes in between other acts. Via App played some woozy and groovy dance music before Gavin Russom graced the stage with his custom synths, exploring the man-machine relationship through impeccable house beats. Bob Moses hyped up the crowd with a live performance of guitars and echoic vocals set against house production, and headliner Tiga’s set of club and house tracks carried the crowd into the night—a perfect cap for the day’s vibes.

The blend of rap, grime, bop, and trap from last Saturday’s acts made for one of the wildest Warm Ups of the season! Joey LaBeija opened with a lively, Latin-infused dance set, Dark0 kicked off the day’s grime vibes, Sicko Mobb got the crowd bopping, rapper Tory Lanez brought more energy to the MoMA PS1 stage than we ever knew was possible, and DJ Slimzee brought out special guest Novelist—a true grime treat. Skepta gave a perfect performance in a pristine all-white outfit, ending with “Shut Down” on a stage filled with his friends. Baauer closed out the night with ‘90s throwbacks and trap bangers, carrying the dance party even further.

Last Saturday’s sold-out Warm Up featured a refreshingly diverse mix of high energy acts. Lotic’s beautifully chaotic club tracks got the crowd dancing early, and didn’t stop until the end of headliner Boys Noize’s set. In between, there was a rare and intimate live set from Lafawndah; happy, warped dance pop from PC Music’s digital maximalists A.G. Cook and Danny L Harle; genius house and techno from Ed Banger RecordsBusy P b2b Boston Bun; and hard-hitting electronic from Boys Noize, complete with a drop of acid-smiley-face beach balls.

Heavy bass and hip-hop from the Night Slugs crew (Sheen, Helix, and Bok Bok); club bangers and throwbacks from Blaqstarr; and raw, melodic raps from both Despot, and Corbin and Bobby Raps created the perfect fusion of electronic and hip-hop for last Saturday’s Warm Up

Last Saturday’s Warm Up had a patriotic spirit complete with old-school dance beats, crowd surfing in a sea of red, white, and blue, and Nicky Siano’s “Return of Libby,” featuring Nicky himself in full Statue of Liberty garb. His reimagined constitution—allowing people the important rights of dancing and partying—seemed to take over the crowd, dancing right up to the start of the fireworks display in Long Island City.
