Yente was one of the first practitioners of completely abstract painting and sculpture in Argentina, beginning in the mid-1930s. Although Yente exhibited with the Arte Concreto-Invención and Madí groups, she remained independent of the intense debates and schisms that characterized the adherents to geometric abstraction in Argentina throughout the 1940s.
