“What kind of futures do you imagine?” This was the call sent to high school–aged artists across New York City. In response, over 200 teens submitted work that expresses their hopes and fears for the future, reflecting their cultures, communities, and individual identities. Imagined Futures is the result. This exhibition was curated by us, MoMA Teens in Residence, as part of a program in which we explore the inner workings of an art museum and the broader art world. We selected the artworks, identified themes, organized the exhibition layout, and created interpretive materials, including texts and audio guides.

In Imagined Futures, you are invited to explore the bold visions of New York City’s next generation of artists, whose work has helped us reimagine the possibilities of the world we share today and tomorrow.
