Join us for the opening reception of the MoMA Teens in Residence program’s Imagined Futures exhibition in the Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building at MoMA.
“What kind of futures do you imagine?” This was the call sent to high school–aged artists across New York City. In response, over 200 teens submitted work that expresses their hopes and fears for the future, reflecting their cultures, communities, and individual identities. Imagined Futures is the result. This exhibition was curated by us, MoMA Teens in Residence, as part of a program in which we explore the inner workings of an art museum and the broader art world. We selected the artworks, identified themes, organized the exhibition layout, and created interpretive materials, including texts and audio guides.
In Imagined Futures, you are invited to explore the bold visions of New York City’s next generation of artists, whose work has helped us reimagine the possibilities of the world we share today and tomorrow. The exhibition will be viewable during regular Museum hours through April 26, 2026.
Imagined Futures is organized by the 2025–26 MoMA Teens in Residence: Annahlyn Barrett, Nathan Byer, Vanny Candia, Celeste Duffy, Chii-Anne Duncan, Hend Fadl, Kiera Gholston, Dariana Nosova, Maria Eduarda Mendes de Oliveira, Emily Peled, Jordinlanyi Reynolds, Dawn Robinson, Klaus Rodriguez, Taiwo Ajibola Subuloye, and Ryan Zheng in collaboration with Stewart Stout, Assistant Educator, Teen Programs, and Ivanna Rodriguez-Rojas, Learning Specialist, School and Teacher Programs, The Museum of Modern Art.
