Eggs. USA. 1970. Directed by Faith Hubley, John Hubley. Music by Quincy Jones. 10 min.
“Living in a world of transplants, overpopulation, increasing controls over everyone and everything, Johnny and I decided to try one more time to develop a film which was really and uniquely our statement. It is a sad look at the future, but serves as a warning. Quincy achieves, in the score, a note of optimism I cannot explain” (Faith Hubley). Georgia recalls, “I remember this period as really exciting, strong memories of going to exotic Los Angeles. The eucalyptus scent, the recording studios, staying at Quincy Jones’s cool house and other people’s cool houses in Malibu, nothing like anything in NYC. Both Eggs and Of Men and Demons bring those memories back to me, and Quincy’s score for both these films spark great feelings.
