Between 1908 and 1918 a number of Cubists visited or lived in Paris, having set their eyes on the French metropolis as a place of inspiration, conversation, and exchange. A Cubist Salon evokes this spirit, presenting traditional Cubist works alongside those by artists aligned with other early avant-garde movements—the way these works would have been seen in artists’ studios, collectors’ homes, and the annual Parisian exhibitions known as salons. Join us for a private viewing of the gallery from 6:00 to 6:15 p.m., followed by an in-gallery conversation, moderated by curatorial assistant Alexandra Morrison, from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m.
