Join the MoMA Teens Film Club for a free screening of John Fawcett’s Ginger Snaps (2000). This horror cult classic follows two death-obsessed teenage sisters, outcasts in their suburban neighborhood, who must deal with the tragic consequences when one of them is bitten by a werewolf.
The screening will be followed by a conversation and audience Q&A with Nialla LeBouef, who works as a screenwriter. Through conversation, we will explore topics like the art of screenwriting, breaking into a writers room, horror, and more. After the screening and conversation, there will be a mixer with complimentary food, activities, and music from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This event is free but registration is required. This program is for folks ages 15–22.
Nialla LeBouef is a screenwriter born and raised in Washington, DC. Her unwavering passion for cinema started early as a child, thanks to her actor father and accountant mother. This cinephile upbringing eventually led her to the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she minored in cinema studies and earned a BFA in film and television. Her first pilot, Charity Hospital, introduced her to the world of writing for television and led to her first staffing job. Apart from writing and watching horror films, LeBouef enjoys books on the paranormal/occult (specifically haunted places), and she has a modest collection of movie tickets, red lipstick, and clothing from the 1940s. Her most recent feature can be found in the January/February 2024 issue of Essence magazine, and she is currently a staff member on the CBS show Evil.
