During the unprecedented period of liberation and decolonization across Africa from the late 1950s through the early 1980s, many dreamed of a continent with a boundless future.

Join us for a conversation on Architects of Liberation: Modernism in Western Africa with Mallory Cohen, Project Manager in the The Emilio Ambasz Institute for the Joint Study of the Built and the Natural Environment. Gain insight into the first major exhibition to examine modern architecture from the late 1950s through the early 1980s in the context of political independence.
