In New York City, everything is connected by the subway. Join us for a discussion with museum educator Kristen McCollum, who will dig into the unique history of art in the subway and its surprising ties to MoMA—two iconic New York institutions, one incredible story. Along the way, explore connections to such artists as Romare Bearden, Roy Lichtenstein, Elizabeth Murray, Faith Ringgold, and more.
Kristin McCollum is a museum educator, guide, and digital storyteller based in New York City. She develops and leads tours for the Museum of the City of New York and the New York Transit Museum and works as an educator at the Morgan Library & Museum. Her video series NerdingOutOnNYC explores the art hiding in plain sight throughout the subway system, bringing the city’s underground museum to audiences via Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. She also teaches and performs improv with Improvolution in the West Village.
