Hear from Fernando Domínguez Rubio, associate professor in the Department of Communication at University of California, San Diego, and author of Still Life: Ecologies of the Modern Imagination at the Art Museum, introduced by Kate Lewis, MoMA’s Agnes Gund Chief Conservator.
In Still Life, Domínguez Rubio explores the day-to-day dilemmas that curators and conservators face to preserve seemingly immortal works, as well as the spaces, actors, and forms of labor traditionally left out of the main narratives of art, and the cost of keeping art from decay.
Domínguez Rubio will speak on the topic of Avowing Loss.
