Some of Carlo Rambaldi’s most chilling visual effects come to life (or death) in Riccardo Freda’s dreamlike giallo-horror Tragic Ceremony, about a group of young hippies who venture into the countryside and seek overnight shelter in a secluded villa, only to find themselves in the midst of a strange, nocturnal ceremony, as their satanic hosts attempt to enrich their sacrifices with freshly severed body parts. Presented in a new digital restoration by Cinecittà
