Join Mary Schmidt Campbell, author of An American Odyssey: The Life and Work of Romare Bearden (2018) and president emerita of Spelman College, and MoMA curator Esther Adler for a conversation about Romare Bearden’s six-decade-long career and evolving artistic practice. A selection of Bearden’s work and materials drawn from the Museum’s archives are currently highlighted in a monographic gallery on view on MoMA’s fourth floor. Join us for a private viewing of Gallery 416: Romare Bearden from 6:00 to 6:15 p.m., followed by an in-gallery discussion from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m.
