Abstract: | The Archives Pamphlet Files are an ephemera collection comprised largely of published clippings concerning MoMA events, topics, people, and places. |
Arrangement |
||
The Archives Pamphlet Fiels are arranged in one alphabetical series. These folders include clippings, correspondence, memoranda, press releases, brochures, announcements, reviews, invitiations, obituaries, and other ephemeral material relevant to The Museum of Modern Art, New York and its history. They contain very little original material or correspondence. |
The records are open for research and contain no restricted materials.
The Archives Pamphlet Files are the physical property of The Museum of Modern Art. Rights to work produced during the normal course of Museum business resides with the Museum. Literary rights including copyright belong to the authors of their legal heirs and assigns. For further information, and the obtain permission to publish or reproduce, contact the MoMA Archives.
Published citations should take the following form:
Long version: Archives Pamphlet Files: [folder title]. The Museum of Modern Art Archives, New York.
Short version: APF: [folder title]. MoMA Archives, NY.
The subject Archives Pamphlet Files (APFs) were originally cocreated and managed by the Museum's Library and Archives. These APFs are an artificial collection, meaning subject folders were created as material (usually press clippings) were received from various sources. The folders contain very little original material or correspondence.
On April 30, 2009 these subject APFs were transferred to the Archives. Since their transfer, Archives staff have added to them on a minimal basis.
The Museum's Library manages a separate run of exhibition APFs.
