Here, Christina Eliopoulos, Archives fellow for research and reference, tells the story of Oskar Schlemmer’s 1932 Bauhaus Stairway, painted in tribute to the Bauhaus school, denounced by the Nazi regime, and championed by MoMA’s founding director.
