Martín Ruiz de Azúa Basic House (Prototype) 1999

  • Not on view

Homeless shelters are often interpreted as nomadic structures and are therefore designed to be foldable, transportable, and easy to install. Azúa’s Basic House, made of extra-light material, folds like a handkerchief and when deployed uses hot air from grilles in city sidewalks to remain inflated and heated.
