This engraving was one of several printed from the same copper printing plate, representing various states or stages in Pollock's development of the image. Although the lines remain the same, he applied the ink to the plate differently before printing each one. The semi-abstract composition shows figures dancing around and over a fire.
Gallery label from Jackson Pollock: A Collection Survey, 1934-1954, November 22, 2015–May 1, 2016.
