Painted aluminum
Comprising three arched aluminum forms painted red, this work can be configured in multiple ways—hung horizontally or vertically and with its concave or convex sides facing out. Aiming to make her sculptures accessible, Posenenske allowed the owners of the work to rearrange the modular pieces however they wished, and priced her works to only reflect production costs. For Posenenske, this work’s straightforward geometry and serial repetition lend it “the objective character of industrial products.”
