Haegue Yang Sallim 2009

  • MoMA, Floor 2, 206 The David Geffen Wing

Do you smell that?

This sculpture represents the artist’s kitchen in Berlin, Germany. She named it Sallim, a Korean word that means “household.” In it are objects like a sink, a garlic bulb, and a fan. Yang also added a machine to release smells like apple pie, coffee, bread, and even vomit! Are there any smells that make you think of your home?
