Film series

This collaborative event pairs the music of Pulitzer Prize–winning composer David Lang with films by artists Doug Aitken, Guy Maddin, Bill Morrison, Matt Mullican, and William Wegman. The five short films were made specifically to accompany five recent Lang compositions, which will be performed live by CONTACT Contemporary Music under the direction of Jerry Pergolesi. Elevated blurs the boundaries between film, music, and performance.
