MoMA

The Toe Tactic. 2008. USA. Written and directed by Emily Hubley

Animation filmmaker Emily Hubley presents a variety of pieces created for documentary and narrative projects (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Blue Vinyl, Bubble Boy) as well as new segments for her feature-in-progress, The Toe Tactic. The program includes a premiere of Octave, a new short comprising eight brief meditations with sound/music by Yo La Tengo, and Tactics of Desire, in which animated loops are accompanied by original music by Sue Garner. A discussion about the collaborative process with filmmakers and composers follows the screenings.

Organized by Charles Silver, Associate Curator, Department of Film and Media.
