Blithe Spirit: A Holiday Salute to David Lean and Rex Harrison

Dec 27–31, 2008

MoMA

To celebrate the Holiday season and in honor of the centenary of both David Lean and Rex Harrison, the Department of Film is pleased to present the recently restored 35mm color print of Lean’s Blithe Spirit. Harrison stars as a remarried widower doing research on the supernatural, along with Constance Cummings as his second wife, Margaret Rutherford as a spiritualist who conducts a fateful seance, and Kay Hammond as the mischievous first wife who gets called up from the dead—and stubbornly refuses to return from whence she came. Happy New Year!
