The Department of Film is pleased to present a special preview screening of Miranda July’s The Future. A filmmaker, performance artist, and writer, July is internationally renowned for her moving-image and written works; her short video Nest of Tens (2000) and her feature debut, Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005), are both in MoMA’s collection. The Future, July’s sophomore feature, is a compelling, melancholic comedy chronicling the fateful month that passes while a young couple waits to bring home their adopted cat, Paw Paw.

Organized by Laurence Kardish, Senior Curator, Department of Film.
