This year marks the 10th anniversary of MoMA’s Create Ability program. This exhibition features work created by participants in the program, which offers monthly workshops for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Guided by teaching artists from MoMA’s Access Programs, participants focus on a different theme each month, discussing artworks in the galleries and creating their own work in the studio. Participants are encouraged to explore the various facets of their artistic ability through experimentation with diverse materials.

The program aims to foster a sense of connection and community, empower through the exploration of new artistic forms and processes, build confidence, be inspiring and fun, and dispel the stigmas surrounding disability. By challenging participants in a supportive environment, we see beyond disability and tap into creativity.
