Johnnie To teams up with king of comedy Stephen Chow (Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle) for one of their all-time favorites, delivering a constant stream of physical and verbal humor. While Chow often plays underdog characters, here he appears as a Qing Dynasty attorney famous for his unmatched wit. His rapid-fire, logic-defying arguments in court disorient opponents and secure countless victories for even his most irredeemable clients. The unbeatable champion submits to no one save his lovey-dovey wife (a luminous Anita Mui), who is, contrary to her mushy demeanor, a feisty martial artist. Together, they find a worthy cause to defend in this entertaining critique of corruption in the justice system.
