Join us for In the Making, MoMA’s free summer art program for New York City high school students ages 15 through 18. Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to enhance your artistic skills, build your portfolio, and immerse yourself in the art world of New York City. Under the guidance of MoMA educators, you’ll explore various artistic mediums, such as painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and mixed media. You’ll also have the chance to work on a project based on your own interests during independent studio time.
Participants get access to new materials and the Museum’s extensive art collection. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet working artists and museum professionals through studio visits, artist talks, and gallery and museum visits. The program will culminate in an exhibition to showcase the work you’ve created during the program.
In the Making participants will meet at MoMA three times a week for seven weeks, from July 9 to August 22, 2024. Attendance at every class is required. MoMA will provide all art materials, MetroCards for transportation to and from the Museum, snacks, and any other costs associated with participating.
To apply, you must complete an online application. Applications are due by Thursday, June 6, at 11:59 p.m. Email [email protected] with any questions.
