Open Art Space is a relaxed, weekly, drop-in program for LGBTQ+ high school students and their allies who are interested in thinking about, and making, art in a creative and welcoming environment.
Join us this Thursday to build upon your alter ego as you learn how to apply makeup on yourself or a friend from professional makeup artist Jane Serenska. All makeup and materials in this hands-on workshop will be provided—including makeup remover at the end—but feel free to bring your own makeup, too.
Jane Serenska is a New York– and Chicago-based hair stylist, makeup artist, and special effects artist for film, theater, and commercial work. Her work can be found in publications like Office and Elle, among others.
This program is free and open to all high school–age participants. No previous art-making experience or registration is necessary.
Open Art Space meets every Thursday, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., in the Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, located at 4 West 54 Street, near Fifth Avenue.
Metrocards, snacks, and supplies will be provided.
