“Children of Paradise was one of my favorite films from the very beginning, partly because of the genius of the great dancer and mime Jean-Louis Barrault. It’s also of interest to me because of its references to early theater, which film came out of. The selection I’m putting with it, from Upsidedown & Backwards, is a dance movement from one of my pieces” (Joan Jonas).
