This program invites viewers of all ages to appreciate the Fleischers’ unique flavor of animation, (mostly) safely removed from the roughneck violence and mind-melting phantasmagoria of other Fleischer creations. Traditional children’s stories and fairy tales get the Fleischer treatment in Betty in Blunderland, Bimbo and Koko try their hand at slinging soup in a roadside luncheonette in Betty Boop’s Bizzy Bee, and an attention-deficit guppy named “Tommy Cod” learns a real-world lesson after being expelled from the classroom in 1937’s Educated Fish.
