Art inSight at Home is an online program for individuals who are blind or have low vision. In each session, staff educators highlight specific themes, artists, or exhibitions through verbal description and discussion using the Zoom platform.
In this interactive session, we will have a conversation about the exhibition New Ground: Jacob Samuel and Contemporary Etching with curator Esther Adler. Master printer and publisher Jacob Samuel has brought etchings—prints created by transferring ink from a metal plate to paper—into the 21st century through collaborations with more than 60 contemporary artists. Together we will explore the flexibility of etching and its reinvention for a contemporary world through Samuel’s printmaking tools and processes.
Art inSight at Home is offered free of charge. Participants may join with the Zoom app or website, or toll free via phone.
Space is limited, and preregistration is required. Please register at least 24 hours in advance of the program to ensure you receive the Zoom login information. Register today

Image description: A portrait oriented etching, with the left half of the work collaged with bright red, blue, and white rhombuses to form a 3D cube pattern. The right half of the work depicts a line-drawn profile of a man’s face, emerging from the collaged shapes on a smudged dull pink background. His hair and beard are formed by small areas of tightly drawn curved lines. His forehead and long nose slump and elongate his face, creating a deeply tired expression.
