Art inSight is a program for individuals who are blind or have low vision and their guests. Staff educators highlight specific themes, artists, or exhibitions through verbal description, multisensory experiences, and discussion.
This in-person program offers the chance to explore the exhibition New Ground: Jacob Samuel and Contemporary Etching with curator Esther Adler and curatorial assistant Margarita Lizcano Hernandez. Master printer and publisher Jacob Samuel has brought etchings—prints created by transferring ink from a metal plate to paper—into the 21st century through collaborations with more than 60 contemporary artists. Together we will learn about the flexibility of etching and its reinvention for a contemporary world through Samuel’s printmaking tools and processes.
Art inSight is free of charge. Space is limited and preregistration is required. Registration opens on January 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.

Image description: A line-drawn etching of a man with his head tilted back to look upward. Above him is an almond-shaped collage filled with tiny, sparkly silver and dark red triangles. His hair is short and smooth against his long head, under eye bags sagging and mouth agape in a wide slim oval. His tiny round ears sit proportionately low on his head, just above the suggestion of his shoulders fade out to the muted green background.
