When the peaceful rural traditions of Bhutan encounter the crassness of contemporary capitalism, funny things can happen. Written and directed by Oscar-nominee Pawo Choyning Dorji (Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom), this gentle fable—a road trip to unexpected enlightenment, filled with humor and luminous beauty—feels particularly poignant in a world of destabilized societies and faltering democracies.
