Screenplay by Frances Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Moss Hart. With Ginger Rogers, Ray Milland, Warner Baxter, Jon Hall. Stripped of most of its Kurt Weill/Ira Gershwin score, Moss Hart’s Broadway hit reached Hollywood just as psychoanalysis was becoming the rage in Beverly Hills. Rogers is a sexually repressed fashion editor searching for the roots of her neurosis with the help of a handsome shrink (Sullivan); competing for her attention are her married publisher (Baxter), her irreverent assistant (Milland) and a visiting Hollywood hunk (Hall). A former production designer, director Mitchell Leisen puts his all into the inevitable dream sequences, shot in extravagant Technicolor. 35mm.
