Homage to Magritte. 1975. USA. Directed by Anita Thacher. 10 min.

Thacher's film is an accretion of images composed on an optical printer before the use of digital tools. Predating popular awareness of René Magritte’s work, Homage to Magritte repurposes his imagery to evoke women’s interior monologues. Preserved with support from NYWIFT’s Women’s Film Preservation Fund.

When Pigs Fly. 1993. USA/Germany. Sara Driver. 94 min.

Screenplay by Ray Dobbins, Sara Driver. With Alfred Molina, Marianne Faithfull, Rachel Bella. A lonely jazz musician living in a small Irish coastal town unwittingly becomes landlord to a couple of female phantoms in this delightfully unusual ghost story. Original music by Joe Strummer of The Clash.
