The horrific reality of our current times, that thoughts and fear are contagious, is the driving force behind Amy Seimetz’s sophomore feature. A hypnotic kaleidoscope of colors and slow-motion realizations becomes a haunting backdrop for Amy, a young woman who believes with full conviction that she will die tomorrow after a visit from the delivery man. When she tells her friends of this delusion, everyone’s lives spiral out of control as they catch the belief that they, too, will die tomorrow. Wrapped in mystery with no set conclusion, each person makes space for reflection and relief even while fear of the unknown is palpable. Released during the pandemic and amid a political climate in which damaging false news permeates our lives with disastrous results, She Dies Tomorrow offers a surreal, bleak, stunning look at what happens when unfounded ideas penetrate our lives.
