A producer, production designer, and art director on many Glass Eye Pix productions, including Hollow Venus, No Telling, Stake Land, and Stray Bullets, Beck Underwood is also an award-winning animator who creates “perfectly perfect” little eccentric worlds mixing stop-motion and live action. She is also the creator of the kids-friendly zine ZuZu and the founder of the Creepy Christmas Film Festival which, she recalls, “began as a large diorama I built, became a printed advent calendar, and eventually inspired two online film festivals, the first in 2008 and another in 2018. Twenty-five filmmakers were invited to create a short film based on images from the calendar or holiday-themed words.” Separately, Underwood’s short film An Exquisite Task screens theatrically with Most Beautiful Island, and Uncle Ben streams online with Birth of the Living Dead.
