Gun Crazy [excerpt]. 1950. USA. Directed by Joseph H. Lewis. Digital.
Gun Crazy begins dreamlike in a downpour in heightened unreality in media res. A nocturnal feverish wet dream of precipitation and uncontrollable desire. Nine beautifully composed shots placed inside a little over a minute’s time. A fourteen-year-old boy stealthily moves through the rain, rounding a corner into a late-night deserted street that becomes a metaphysical arena like a Golgotha, a corrida or a de Chirico piazza, the scene of a crime.
Age 13. 1955. USA. Directed by Arthur Swerdloff. Writing and cinematography by Sid Davis. 26 min. Digital.
Age 13 is a precautionary educational film of the highest order. Compassionate and inventive, delicate and unsparing. Andrew mourns his late mother trying to reach her through searchlight, fetish and a radio tuned to the beyond. Stark humiliations and neglect lead Andrew into acts of cruelty, symbolic rituals, and a dangerous nocturnal descent journey into an urban wilderness where no child is safe.
Onward Lossless Follows. 2017. USA. Filmmaker Michael Robinson. 17 min. Digital.
A password-protected love affair, a little vapor on Venus, and a horse with no name ride out in search of a better tomorrow. Onward Lossless Follows is a collaged film about heartbreak in the contemporary American psyche. It looks at the desire to find romance within a collapsing world, and considers abduction as a form of ecstatic escape – a potential shortcut to a better place. - Michael Robinson

Future from Inside. 2021. USA. Filmmaker Dani ReStack and Sheilah ReStack. 23 min. Digital. World premiere.
“Future From Inside is the last in the trilogy begun in 2016, by Dani and Sheilah ReStack. The work traces the ReStack collaboration, as it manifests in life and in work. The porous line between real and fantasy is further elaborated in this work -- Future from Inside utilizes body doubles, a continuing journey for answers and oracles, animal synthesis, queer desire, children and radical community to weave a fragmented future. This final offering of the trilogy does not offer answers to the personal and societal conflict, but continues the possibility of the feral domestic as a way to inhabit the space of living to yield surprising results.” - Dani and Sheliah ReStack
