Play with line and shape, experiment with repetition, and try making marks on different surfaces in this drawing workshop. We’ll take inspiration from art and artists featured in the exhibition Degree Zero: Drawing at Midcentury, exploring how we can draw from scratch in a series of short exercises. No drawing skills are necessary to participate in this process-focused, hourlong workshop.

All are welcome, including families, teens, adults, groups of friends, and more. The recommended minimum age is seven.

Suggested materials: Eight to 10 sheets of paper, including a piece from your recycling bin, a pencil, an eraser, a piece of aluminium foil, and an unwrapped crayon.

This session will be led virtually through Zoom, a free video-conferencing software. Participants should have access to a computer, smart phone, or tablet with a camera and Internet access. Participants may also dial in using a phone line.

Accessibility

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and live captioning is available for public programs upon request with two weeks advance notice.
