I Lost My Body. 2019. France. Directed by Jérémy Clapin. DCP. 81 min.
There are moments in life when your body decides your fate, while your brain is left flustered and scrambling to catch up. Such a moment is expanded in visceral form in Jeremy Clapin’s wonderous and wild animated feature debut. A workplace accident leaves young Naoufel missing an appendage; one that has a mind of its own! A mad scramble through Paris and the sparks of a love affair ensue. Macabre, melancholic, but ultimately life affirming, this is a must-see for fans of animation for grownups. Courtesy Netflix.
